RX 150 Racer Wins Driver Of The Day
RX new boy, Geoffrey Dolan, won the driver of the day at the recent Mayo stages Rally, near Ballina. Geoffrey finished 18th overall and was 'chuffed to bits' to receive the driver of the day award.
RX 150 Regular Shrimpton Finishes In 16th Overall On Debut Rally
As we told you earlier one of RX Racing's regular competitor's Joe Shrimpton tried his hand at rallying today and the young man proved to be quick. Shrimpton dove a Citroen C2R2 on the McGrady Insurance Bishopscourt Stages Rally today and he enjoyed his first taste of rallying.
Joe beamed, "To finish 16th overall and 9th in class was a fantastic result. I am over the moon at how it all went. I have never driven with a navigator before, so at first it was a very different experience. I was also trying to drive the front wheel drive C2R2 like a rear wheel drive RX150 on the first stage. But I adjusted on the second stage and got a lot smoother, I took around 40 seconds off my time on SS1, and it all got better and better from there. I'd like to thank Ed and Willie for their support today. I am off to Ballina tomorrow for the Mayo Stages Rally and I am hoping for another good event. The aim is to compete in enough rallies and then get my 'A' licence. I am also looking forward to the new season in the RX 150's, it is sure to be close and I am looking forward to try and beat my points tally from 2009."
Joe's navigator on the event, Ed Muldoon said, "Joe put in a brilliant performance today. You could see once he smoothed it out a bit how quick he was. This fella is going to be one to watch out for."
RX Racer Shrimpton Goes Rallying
Better known for his exploits in an RX150, Joe Shrimpton will make his rally debut at the wheel of a Citroen C2R2 today at the McGrady Insurance Bishopscourt Stages Rally 2010. This event is Round 2 of the Hankook MSA Northern Ireland Rally Championship. Joe is hoping to compete in enough stage rallies to get his 'A' licence. We wish him the very best of luck.
